Copper Country Rentals

Helmets: available to rent for only $10 per day. Helmets are only required on ATV's, not side by sides.

Trail Maps: available and we are happy to help you plan a fun trip on the hundreds of miles of trails in the Keweenaw Peninsula.

‍Rental Information: Check-out is at 9:00 am and check-in is no later than 7:00 pm the same day.  ATV's go out with a full tank of gas; we expect them to be returned with a full tank of gas. Must be 18 years of age with credit card and valid driver’s license to rent.

‍Deposit Information: $100.00 non-refundable credit card deposit at time of reservation which is later applied to the full rental cost.

‍Cancellation Policy: We ask that if you should need to cancel your reservation to please call at least seven days before the rental date. Should you need to cancel within the seven day period, you are responsible for the full rental amount.  Please keep in mind that we do not except cancellations via email or text, please call.

Wondering Where to Go?

One of the most common questions we get is “where should we ride?” — and the short answer is: you’ve got a lot of great options.

If you head north, you can ride all the way to Copper Harbor. From there, you can continue even farther out to High Rock, which is a bit beyond Copper Harbor but well worth it if you have the time. There are also a lot of great places to explore off the main route. Eagle Harbor and Eagle River sit a little to the west, while Gay and Lac La Belle are off to the east — all great rides, just not directly along the straight shot to Copper Harbor.

If you’re looking to go south, you can ride to Hancock and even cross into Houghton — just keep in mind that crossing the bridge requires a police escort, at least two machines, and must be done during designated times.

‍Our top ride recommendation:
Head north to Copper Harbor, then continue out to High Rock and take in Brockway Mountain (you’re allowed to the first lower lookout only). Plan for about 2–2.5 hours one way to Copper Harbor.

‍Looking for something shorter?
Eagle Harbor is a great option. It’s a beautiful ride with a nice stop at the Eagle Harbor Inn, and usually takes about 1–1.5 hours one way.

A couple things to note: Waterfalls are a popular stop. A few are pretty easy to get to right from the trail — like Hungarian Falls, Manganese Falls, and the Eagle River Lower Falls — while others may require a short hike. Be sure to check out the link above for waterfall locations and how to access them.

No matter which direction you go, it’s hard to have a bad ride up here — just follow the trail system, respect posted routes, and enjoy it!
